“1 Inch All Aluminum” A New Addition to the 1 Inch Collection by Jasper Morrison
The 1 Inch All Aluminum Collection is strong and lightweight, made of recycled aluminum, utilizing Emeco’s unique 77-step process. The 1 Inch All Aluminum side chair and armchair stack 6 high, the stools come in three varying heights. The 1 Inch All Aluminum Collection is made for heavy-duty environments, indoor or outdoor, guaranteed for life, and made in the USA.
Emeco engineers borrowed tools from the automotive industry to make perfect circular apertures in the seat and back. When used outdoors they drain the rainwater and allow wind to blow through. Also, in addition each hole is slightly contoured adding additional strength while reducing overall weight.
Finally, the Emeco craftsmen fit the seat and back to the frame, welding it into one piece. The chairs and stools are finished with the Emeco established process: heat-treating, anodizing, and brushing to make them strong, resilient, lightweight, and beautiful.

“Our definition of sustainability is the 1 Inch All Aluminum Collection, made of more than 80% recycled aluminum. Since the 1880’s, 75% of all aluminum produced is still in use today. Recycling aluminum requires 95% less energy, aluminum can be recycled indefinitely, and recycling reduces carbon dioxide emissions and the amount of waste headed into landfills. I’m grateful to Jasper Morrison for his work with Emeco using sustainable materials to design beautiful timeless chairs.”

For the 1 Inch Collection, Jasper Morrison tapped into Emeco’s heritage in hand crafting recycled aluminum, and leveraged its signature strength, light weight, and sustainability. Emeco and Jasper Morrison together have created a collection that reflects our values and uncompromising standards - a seating family that is strong, simple, timeless, and engineered to last.
All 1 Inch chairs and stools with seats made from 100% reclaimed wood polypropylene, and frames in hand brushed, clear anodized aluminum, are suitable for outdoor use, with a selection of 7 colors.
All frames are handcrafted from recycled aluminum and available in two versions: hand brushed, clear anodized finish, or black powder coated finish.
