Lady Carlotta achieves total fusion between top and base. Lady Carlotta is a smooth, mono-material piece, completely feminine : no angle, no edge, just soft curves like a block of soap. The slender, spindleshaped legs are evocative of stiletto heels. Their black-stained solid ash finish (the stain is applied with a pad in the old-fashioned way, giving depth to the black stain with a toast-like effect) refines them even more. Their effect is extended by the edging/cradle which intimately hugs the surface of the solid ash top, the natural finish of which both illuminates and reinforces the presence of the wood. For both tables, the rounded corners inspire softness. They are particularly welcome on the low table, the corners of which often represent a potential hazard for unwary tibias!
